Educational experience:Joe Dilger served as Head of Governance Services for the multi academy sponsor Oasis Community Learning (OCL) from September 2008 to June 2011. During these 3 years, he led and managed on governance, as OCL grew from running 3 Academies (in 2008) to running 12 Academies (in 2011). " Joe Dilger worked at Oasis Community Learning from 2008 to 2011 as its first Director of Governance, at a time when we grew from three to twelve academies. As such he set up all governance structures and processes and was very actively involved in the establishment of Academy Councils (local Governing Bodies) across the UK. In particular, he worked in close partnership with colleagues internally and with lawyers externally, to ensure that our local Academy Councils clearly understood their responsibilities, and were properly trained to carry them out. In addition to these duties Joe also lead on Freedom of Information requests and processes. I worked closely with Joe on some strategic HR initiatives. I have always been impressed by Joe’s enthusiasm, professionalism, attention to detail and hard work and his excellent ability to work in a team and to network with a wide variety of colleagues. Other experience:Joe served outside work as a Coach from 2007-12 for the education charity Teach First( http://www.teachfirst.org.uk/TFHome/ ) - coaching 1-2 London teachers each year. Since March 2012, Joe serves outside work as Secretary of The John Adams Society ( http://johnadamssociety.co.uk/ ). The John Adams Society is a special alumni organisation for individuals who have participated in US State Department Leadership programmes - as Joe did on an IVLP programme in 'US Trade and Economic Development' in May 2000. |
